Quick Start Guide
This guide will walk you through setting up your first monitor and status page.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A MonitoringDog account (sign up for free)
- At least one website or service to monitor
Setup Steps
Section titled “Setup Steps”-
Create your workspace
After signing in, you’ll be prompted to create your first workspace. Give it a name that represents your team or project.

Add your first monitor
Click “Add Monitor” and enter the URL of your service. You can configure:
- Check interval (1-60 minutes)
- Timeout threshold
- Expected status code
- Custom headers

Set up notifications
Configure how you want to be notified when issues occur:
- Slack
- Discord
- SMS (Business plans)
- Phone (Business plans)

Create a status page
Navigate to “Status Pages” and create a public page for your customers. You can:
- Customize with your brand colors
- Add components for different services
- Set up a custom domain

Configure on-call schedules (optional)
Set up rotation schedules to ensure fair distribution of on-call duties:
- Create teams
- Define rotation patterns
- Set escalation policies
