Accounts and Sessions
Understand how MonitoringDog signs users in and opens workspace sessions
MonitoringDog separates identity from product access. A sign-in method verifies who is signing in, then MonitoringDog opens an application session that can access the right workspace.
Identity comes first
The sign-in page supports two identity methods:
| Method | What it verifies | Entry point |
|---|---|---|
| Google sign-in | The Google account connected to the MonitoringDog account | Continue with Google on the Sign In page |
| Email and password | The email/password identity connected to the MonitoringDog account | Work email and Password on the Sign In page |
The sign-up page creates an email/password identity. Password reset also belongs to the email/password method.
Sessions open workspace access
After identity verification succeeds, MonitoringDog completes application login and opens the product destination for that account.
Typical outcomes are:
| Destination | What it means |
|---|---|
| Workspace route | MonitoringDog routes the signed-in account toward the active workspace or team selection flow |
| Onboarding | MonitoringDog routes a new account through initial setup when the app detects that state |
| Sign-in page | The protected page did not find an active session |
MonitoringDog handles these redirects after authentication. When a protected page returns to the Sign In page, the session is missing or expired. Sign in again to continue.
Password reset
Password reset starts from the Reset Password page in the MonitoringDog portal. MonitoringDog sends a reset email to the submitted address.
The reset link opens a form with Password and Confirm Password. The password changes only when both values match and the reset request succeeds.
